Building Your Productivity As A Blogger
March 31, 2011For many, blogging is something they are passionate about and they don’t really need to improve their productivity. On the other hand, there are others that are affected by a variety of factors that can negatively impact their productivity. If you want to generate the best results and get the maximum out of your work when blogging, then you need to become more productive so it takes you less time to do more, because that’s what smart bloggers do. Despite the fact that it isn’t rocket science, most new bloggers have trouble with time management concepts and ensuring their blog generates the best possible results.
If you write several, rather than just one, blog post at a time, you’ll be much more productive. Writing blog posts ahead of schedule is a powerful tactic. Set aside some time to write blog posts and get as many done as possible, and then when you want to publish them, they’ll be written already. Don’t fall into the trap of writing all your blog posts at the last second, so you’re always in a hurry. When you do this, the quality of your posts will suffer and you tend to fall behind. Moderation is one of your tasks as a blogger, but you should limit the amount of time you devote to it. Set a specific time when you will be moderating the comments, because you obviously won’t have a comment posted every five minutes. Make sure you spend the bulk of your time doing things that will contribute to your success, such as promoting your blog. It’s easy to get caught up in less critical tasks (like moderating comments) so you have less time for the really critical ones.
Lastly, try to automate all those frequent tasks related to your blog that can be automated. It’s a good idea, for instance, to automate the updating or your sitemap, as this can take up a lot of your time otherwise. Try to identify which blogging activities you can automate, which ones you can outsource to others and which really need your personal attention. You’ll become more productive when you can recognize where your time and energy should go at any given moment. While you don’t want to overdo it with automation, you can boost your productivity by making good use of it.
All in all, from the above article it becomes clear that as a blogger, productivity is really important and you need to take every measure to grow it.
